Haley Stevens is Losing it.
I was there in Detroit when she announced that she was endorsing right wing Republican Senator Mike Rogers over her fellow Democrat, Abdul El-Sayed.
The only way that I can describe it as 15mins of cringe. Her only reason that she gave for crossing party lines two days before the election - a nighty important election if you care about the future of Democracy, voting rights, immigrant rights and so much more.
I do have to note that the the video above was a VOLUNTARY press conference that she walked up to. Nothing prepared whatsoever. She had already "officially" endorsed Mike Rogers in her car on the way to the church.
Later that day, she started doing the media rounds. It did not go well. AGAIN, this was completely voluntary. She spoke with CNN's Anderson Cooper who for another 15mins just tried to get an answer to two questions (a summary):
First: Congresswoman Dingle said that late the night before Stevens was still committed to voting for Abdul El-Sayed. Less than 12 hours later she had switched had a massive heart-attack level change of heart. Was Dingle telling the truth about that conversation?
Second: What changed in your decision making? Was it that El-Sayed din't want you to campaign with him? Was there anything else? What changed?
I don't often compliment Anderson Cooper, but this interview incredible, genuinely worth watching him try again and again... and then attacking the question from a different direction... for FIFTEEN minutes.
In the end, she just blinked her way through. Never saying anything - just citing a campaign ad that El-Sayed didn't run and has asked to be taken down.
here's the entirety of the seeming mental breakdown Haley Stevens just had on CNN. One of the most bizarre and incoherent political interviews I can recall. Note how she's completely unable to explain why she changed her mind from supporting Abdul El-Sayed last night to endorsing… pic.twitter.com/0QVBX6yOXf

Please tell me you watched it all the way through. This is one of those things that need to be done, need to be suffered through so that you never end up in this situation, on CNN, not answering a question and blinking like you're sending morse code to your rich donor fiancé.
Now that you've watched that - watch this. "The divide in our politics is the people who are locked out vs. the people locking them out." This is the guy that spreads "hate."
Abdul El-Sayed: Democracy is about the work we do together. The divide in our politics is the people who are locked out vs. the people locking them out. I hope that I can continue to coalesce folks so we can actually get legislation that's befitting of the movement that we're building.

I admit this post reads like an endorsement from me, it's not. I just can't stand people that don't stand by whatever they claim their morals are. We've all seen Mike Rogers and Trump speak. We know where the hate is coming from. It's not coming from a fucking streamer. It's not coming from El-Sayed. And it's sure as fuck not coming from the people supporting El-Sayed. Go watch my interviews with them.
