Watch: Muhammad Ali's Daughter and Grandson Endorse Michigan's Abdul El-Sayed
"Whenever there's a good fight there's going to be an Ali." - Ali's daughter, Khalia Ali in Michigan today.
Taking the stage after Jamaal Bowman, Michigan AG candidate Eli Savit and Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II spoke at a community center in Detroit where Khalia and Jacob Ali (his grandson) expressed their how their father would have loved Abdul El-Sayed.
Beginning with a joke that her father probably would have loved, Khalia said, "I want to talk a little bit about this man, this fine looking man in his black t shirts. Daddy would have said, who's prettier, me or Abdul?

Passing the mic to her son, reminding everyone that now is his time, younger people's time. Jacob in turn opened with reminding people about who is Grandfather Ali really was and what he did for people. "People ask me that question a lot, and my answer was always been, you tell me when my grandfather, black man in this country, called himself beautiful, he did that for all of you. But my grandfather, a black man, dared to call himself the greatest. He did that for all of you. And my grandfather protested the Vietnam War on behalf of his religious beliefs as a Muslim."
