March 4 Democracy in Norfolk
Residents of Norfolk Demand a Return of Democracy to America
As part of national protests dozens of people from the Norfolk area marched from the Norfolk Federal Building where ICE works out of to Town Pointe Park. Surrounded by the vestiges of the military industrial complex, military shipyards and battleship museums, people stood against the Trump administrations use of federal forces to threaten Americans and people around the world.
Holding signs that proclaim “They blame immigrants so you won’t blame billionaires” and “Democracy is dead” the people of Hampton Roads projected their refusal to comply with Trump’s illegal use of power to attack immigrants and the nation of Iran.
Local candidates and activists took the stage to call out those in power for their inactivity against Republicans as they reached towards fascism.
