Jordan Chariton of Status Coup had me on to discuss "ANTIFA" and Jimmy Kimmel's censorship.
On September 17th, Donald Trump announced that he will declare “ANTIFA” a terrorism organization. Nevermind that there is no domestic terrorism designation in the USA the threat once again has been laid.
Via a “Truth” post he said: “I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION, I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Legally he can’t do that. But, as with everything that Trump has done in 2025 laws don’t matter. Watch Jordan and I discuss this idea.
In another addition to the speedrun to fascism that Trump is doing this year, his FCC head Brendan Carr said that he would be looking into Jimmy Kimmel’s comments on Charlie Kirk. The milquetoast Kimmel has for some reason been a long focus of Trump’s ire, so when he criticized Trump’s responses to Charlie Kirks killing, Carr saw his moment to pounce.
Nexstar, a local TV media conglomerate in the middle of a $6 BILLION merger with another broadcast media group Tegna saw the writing on the wall and threatened to pull Kimmel from their stations ABC saw their excuse and did an “indefinitely” suspended The Jimmy Kimmel show.
Since then the media response has been widely damning of the decision - nearly all the rage understandably focused at ABC for bowing to the pressure like so many other media outlets before.
