Photos: Godmother of Soul Patti LaBelle Sings in Norfolk
She's still got it. (As if there was any question.)

Patti LaBelle, performed her hit songs on the opening night of Norfolk’s annual Harborfest to a packed audience in Town Pointe Park. The performance was also on the night of Juneteenth.
LaBelle was stunning in a blue outfit still hitting all the notes and moves at 82 years old. She is a Grammy Hall of Famer and regularly on tv shows like The Masked Singer, American Idol and was a recurring cast member on the reboot of The Wonder Years.
The singer also is a gay icon, likely at least in part because when few people were speaking out about the AIDs crisis she became a spokesperson for the National Minority AIDS council in 1987.
She embraced that love and has spoken at many pride parades, even talling Page Six that, “I’m the original drag queen, I was wearing crazy hair, crazy makeup, crazy clothes [from the beginning].”
You’d probably recognize her most for her performance of Lady Marmalade, which his number one on US and Canadian charts going Gold.
