Talking About the Boogaloo with Ford Fischer
Ford has a new doc series out “Fall of the Boogaloo” - episode three is dropping tonight.
This episode I’m chatting with documentary filmmaker and journalist Ford Fischer about his new series Fall of the Boogaloo. The 10 part series follows the Boogaloo movement for several years throughout the United States. Ford is an emmy award nominated filmmaker, worked with PBS on their Documenting Hate series, has covered everything from the Unite the Right rally, to January 6th and probably a couple thousand protests and political events.
In our discussion we delve into why he made the series, what interested him in such a group of people and what, if any, future the Boogaloo has.
Full disclosure, Ford is a long time friend and colleague and I contributed to this series - filming one of the core interviews. We tried to not get too behind the scenes or esoteric on the boog meme culture so that a wider audience might be interested in watching the incredible series that Ford has made.
Fall of the Boogaloo is available for free on youtube - the first two episodes are available right now at News2Share’s page and the third is dropping tonight.
